Digital Channels Backlash Many shoppers and sellers are posting online stating that platform listings now display a different size category compared to what was initially listed as a result of the reclassification. The platform stated the updated approach better aligns with similar services. The platform has recommended to review their products and adjust the sizing manually if necessary, causing user dissatisfaction. Sizing System Updates Before the change, the sizes had both one number and one letter, like S/8 or M/10. The new system has an alphabetical indicator and numerical range for example S/UK 8-10. In some cases, the measurements have been reclassified - for example a size L was previously a 12 but now shows as UK 16-18. Member Accounts A fashion influencer, who produces content about larger sizing, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder". "Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," the way the service now categorizes. A different member, from Glasgow, said garments she listed on Vinted with size 14 labels were displaying on the service as larger sizing 20-22. "If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they're going to be very disappointed," she said. Necessary Adjustments A different user, based in Derby, explained she became annoyed because the modification necessitated personal updates the measurements for "each individual item". "This situation is especially annoying, because of my ongoing medical condition and Vinted sales have been crucial for me since losing part of my income," she explained. Platform Context The service features exceeding 100 million members, with 18 million British users. It has become a favored option versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop. This isn't the first time when a surprising modification within the service has received backlash: last year, Vinted reversed a change regarding delivery choices following member complaints.
