It has been 30 anniversary after the original Toy Story movie debuted, establishing Pixar as a major animation studio and introducing audiences to beloved characters like the cowboy doll (the actor) and the space ranger (the voice talent), who are now famous worldwide.

Coming in 2026, the next chapter is set to arrive. The initial preview for Toy Story 5 landed this week, providing a brief look into the plot but leaving fans curious how it will resolve the conclusion of Toy Story 4.

The Latest Addition: A Frog-Shaped Tablet Frightens the Toys

The preview reveals the young girl — who received the toy collection when he grew up — getting a brand new toy, one that alarms the familiar toy group. Bonnie gets her first tablet computer, and she is thrilled about it.

Theoretically, the frog-shaped tablet will animate just like Bonnie's other toys. Still, the toys seem to view it as a danger coming to replace them, which it probably is.

Woody's Return: Unanswered Questions from Toy Story 4

One thing the teaser doesn't touch on is what the sheriff is back with his friends in the child's bedroom. The end of Toy Story 4 depicted him set off on a new adventure with Bo Peep (Annie Potts), journeying with a fair and helping giveaway items find good homes.

Surely, the filmmakers will explain the aftermath of Toy Story 4 in the movie. Seeing him show up in the familiar setting unexpectedly is somewhat puzzling, though. It also makes us wonder whether his partner will have come back with him. And what about the stuntman toy (the star)?

Connections from the Previous Film

Fortunately, some elements are carrying over from the prior film. The last thing the cowboy did before setting off for his fresh path was pass his symbol of authority to the cowgirl (the voice actor), leaving her as the leader of Bonnie's bedroom. The clip displays the badge attached to her shirt.

Hopefully she is remains the driving force among the toys.
