Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been earned on hardcourt
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his first championship for nearly 30 months with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament final.
Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a torrid period, winning just one match at the Grand Slams and suffering a difficult moment at the American major.
Medvedev's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serving in especial - led to him falling of the top ten and finally parting ways with long-term coach Cervara.
Currently training with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, he has steadily advanced in the past month - climaxing in a closely contested three-set triumph over opponent Moutet.
It is his maiden title following the Italian tournament and initial on a hard court after March of that year.
The win also means the Russian has secured 21 victories at twenty-one various tournaments.
"For the first time I have attended a competition with my both daughters together, so to get a trophy is really nice," commented world number 14 the champion.
"This victory is in dedication of my younger daughter her name, because the initial championship I won when my first daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had lost his past six title deciders, including in Halle previously this season.
The player's retrieving play style and frequent reactions on the playing surface had led observers to wonder if his ability to compete at the top level was over.
But the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the past month, making an effort to approach the net and play positively, backed up by an enhanced service.
The champion recovered from a disadvantage in the initial set against the challenging opponent, winning 4 of the concluding five points to gain the advantage.
The competitors traded breaks in the second set before the challenger, attempting for his first tour title, took control to create a final set.
The opponent defended four initial break points in a tight deciding set before Medvedev secured a break to that score to secure the win.
Suitably, the winner secured victory with a point at the net, with the Frenchman failing to control a shot after over two and a half hours.
